Trying to work safe. I used a router with a V shaped profile to remove the old paint from the routed lettering. It still took forever. But I got the letters clean enough to repaint. I started with the gold and was purposefully a little sloppy going over the edges. my plan is to us a short nap roller with the navy blue on the surface. I expect that application to make a nice sharp edge cleaning up the lettering. If it doesn't work, I'll be doing a lot of carful pain
ting later on.
