My first art show in 20 years. It was so nice having my friends and family come out in support and share in my joy as I was able to show people the body of work I’ve been spending so much of my time on lately. I also enjoyed meeting so many new people. It was nice to get feedback from people who don’t know me and are seeing my work for the first time. My wife, who is my biggest fan and encourager, and my 2 older children, helped me set up and take down the show. I was surprised how comfortable my kids were in such a social situation as this, they were certainly more relaxed than I was and seemed to really have a good time. Thank you to Maria and Angie at Somm Time Wine Bar for hosting and getting the word out. The turnout was amazing. Of course, my favorite part was gifting them a custom painting. I had painted them a portrait of the 2 of them relaxing in a bubble bath of wine in the room they had built outside for serving guests. With grapevines growing everywhere and wine bottles growing from the vines, I think it captures both the freshness and rich taste of their menus and the vibe of fun life that their little wine bar gives off. You must try the green spaghetti, it's amazing.
